Shopify Plus is Shopify's highest plan, designed for stores that need more advanced multi-store management, larger B2B scenarios, higher operational capacity, or specific checkout adjustments. However, a higher turnover in itself is not a reason to switch. The decisive factor is whether the store will actually use the functions that the lower plan does not provide.
What changed in 2026
The difference between Shopify Plus and lower plans has changed during 2026. Shopify has also made basic B2B functions available on the Basic, Grow and Advanced plans. Company profiles, payment terms, self-service orders, quantity rules and a limited number of catalogs are therefore no longer a reason for Plus in themselves.
Plus retains more advanced options, such as unlimited B2B catalogs, direct catalog assignment to a specific company or branch, and selected advance and partial payment scenarios. At the same time, Shopify Scripts ended on June 30, 2026. Stores with original custom logic must use corresponding apps or solutions based on Shopify Functions.
The Spring '26 Edition also brought broader support for agentic commerce and AI sales channel management. It is a new distribution channel, not a replacement for quality product data, a usable online store or regular SEO.
Which Plus features matter
| Area | What Plus adds | What to check before making a decision |
|---|---|---|
| B2B | Unlimited catalogs, direct company catalogs and selected advanced payment scenarios | Whether the features available on Basic, Grow or Advanced are not enough |
| More shops | Main store and up to nine eligible expansion stores under the contract | Each store has its own data, settings, apps and theme license |
| Checkout | More advanced extensions, Checkout Branding API and specific B2B/D2C scenarios | Which modification do you really need and whether it is available on the chosen plan |
| Technical possibilities | More API resources, the ability to request higher limits, and custom apps with Shopify Functions | The real load of the integrations and the specific limits of the APIs used |
| Traffic | Up to 200 locations, priority support, staging stores and organizational tools | How many of these options will the team actually use |
| Headless | Up to 25 storefronts in Hydrogen hosted on Oxygen | Whether the benefit of the custom customer layer outweighs the cost of development and Shopify admin |
Checkout Extensibility is not one feature with one availability rule. Thank you and order-status extensions are available on every plan except Starter, while checkout UI extensions in the information, shipping and payment steps and the Checkout Branding API require Plus. Shopify Functions also vary by API and app distribution method. The exact design should therefore be checked against current documentation before estimating the project.
How much does Shopify Plus cost?
As of July 28, 2026, Shopify lists the price for European Union countries EUR 2,250 per month with a one-year contract a EUR 2,100 per month on a three-year contract. For larger or more complex businesses, the offer may include a variable platform fee depending on turnover and business model. The final terms must be confirmed directly with Shopify, as the pricing page and terms and conditions are subject to change.
The plan is only one part of the total cost. The budget typically includes design, theme development, data migration, app, integration, testing, theme licensing for individual production stores, and subsequent technical management.
- Check the price and contract length directly in the current Shopify Plus pricing page
- List all production stores and verify their eligibility as expansion stores
- Factor in separate theme licenses and any app fees for each store
- Separate one-time implementation from regular operating costs
- Get payment fees and any individual conditions confirmed in writing
Czech and Slovak requirements
Shopify Payments is currently available for eligible businesses in the Czech Republic. Slovakia is not on the official list of supported countries, therefore the Slovak store chooses an external provider available directly in the Shopify admin. The availability of specific payment methods, carriers, invoicing or ERP connections always needs to be verified for a specific store, country and operational process.
Plus itself does not provide local transport, accounting or product integrations. These can be solved by a ready-made app, middleware or custom integration. It is important to describe the source of the data, the responsibility of the individual systems, the behavior in the event of an error and the method of subsequent support.
Proven experience: Posedla
I worked on the Shopify project of the Posedla brand first as part of the Appfleece team and later also in direct collaboration with the brand. My role included developing and modifying the customer interface, working with the theme and selected parts of Posedla Academy. I led the B2B subproject independently, including direct communication with the client.
Jakub helped us build and develop our Shopify online store, both as a freelancer and as part of an agency. He has a great working attitude and is always looking for unconventional solutions. I can warmly recommend Jakub to every owner of a Shopify online store.Jiri Duzar · Co-Founder, Posedla
The reference documents my personal work on the project. It is not a claim that I have single-handedly delivered the entire migration, all the regional stores or all the brand integrations.
When Plus makes sense
- Yes: you need advanced B2B functions that are not available on the lower plan
- Yes: you operate multiple eligible stores and use organizational management Plus
- Yes: a specific request for checkout, API or custom Functions has been technically validated
- Rather not: the main issue is content, mobile interface, speed or unclear customer journey
- Rather not: the decision is based solely on turnover or the expectation that a higher plan will automatically increase conversions
Shopify Plus is an investment in operational capabilities. It has value only if it solves a specific limitation and the benefit outweighs the cost of the plan and implementation.
Frequently asked questions
Is Shopify B2B only available on Plus?
No. From 2026, basic B2B functions are also available on the Basic, Grow and Advanced plans. Plus adds, for example, unlimited catalogs, direct company catalogs and selected advanced payment options.
How much does Shopify Plus cost in the Czech Republic?
As of July 28, 2026, Shopify for EU countries is quoting €2,250 per month on a one-year contract and €2,100 per month on a three-year contract. Individual terms and conditions may apply to more complex and larger transactions.
Are there more stores included in Plus?
A standard Plus contract supports a main store and up to nine eligible expansion stores. Stores work independently, they don't automatically share data, and each production store needs its own paid theme license.
Is Plus worth it because of higher turnover?
Turnover is only one entry. More important is whether the business will use the specific features, limits and organizational tools of Plus and whether their benefits will outweigh the price of the platform and implementation.
Do you need to verify that Plus matches your specification?
Send me a description of the current store, markets, B2B model and necessary integrations. I can help separate the requirements available on the regular plan from those that really require Plus.
